'Happy, Passionate about learning and Ambitious'
Hello!
I’m Helen Furner and I am Governor of the month.
I had the pleasure of attending the Year 2/3 nativity this morning and what a delight it was. The singing was loud and clear, as were all the spoken words and it was a great script. The children shone with confidence and enjoyed performing as much as the audience enjoyed watching. It might have been cold outside and even in the hall, but our hearts were warmed as we heard once again the timeless Christmas Story brought to us so brilliantly. Well done to all the children but also to the staff who helped the children reach such a high standard.
And it is not only in these important life skills that the staff help our children attain but the rest of the curriculum too. The recent visit from Ofsted recognised this and confirmed what many of us already knew. That HPA is a good school. In my opinion it is more than good in many ways. The environment is inviting and stimulating and my visits have always been a positive experience. As a retired teacher and a school governor for the past few years it has been an inspiration to see the enthusiasm and dedication of everyone in the team. Speaking with someone from the PTA this morning reminded me what an amazing part they play in this too.
We do it all for the children and as teachers, governors, parents and friends, when the children give us those heart-warming moments (and there are many if we look out for them) then it makes it all worthwhile.
May we all enjoy a Blessed Christmas and look forward to a great year ahead.
