'Happy, Passionate about learning and Ambitious'
Hello, my name is Ann Coltham and I was Governor of the Month for November.
It came as no surprise that OFSTED found that Hooe Primary Academy continues to be a good school but isn’t it great when someone from outside the school comes in and sees what you all see every day. This could not have happened without the fantastic children, the supportive parents and the amazing staff (and I mean all staff: mealtime assistants, teaching assistants, cleaners, kitchen staff, teachers, sites and premises staff and Kids club staff) because the school is a community, and you have all played your part in making our school as good as it is.
Walking around the school there is a buzz of activity; you can feel that the children are having fun as they are learning. The school looks fresh and welcoming and there are amazing displays of the children’s work in the corridor and lots of evidence of their learning on the walls in the classrooms. I enjoyed seeing some year 5 children doing artwork in one of the spare classrooms where they worked in small groups and had plenty of room to be creative! The children are always polite and respectful to visitors, and it is especially good to see them being kind to each other.
So, as we say goodbye to a busy and eventful November, I am sure everyone is looking forward to all that December brings.
