Hooe Primary Academy

'Happy, Passionate about learning and Ambitious'

Teresa Skingle

I have worked in education in one form or another since having my children. After teaching for 20 years and taking semi-retirement, I changed my pathway and began working in School Governance. I have been a governor, myself, at another school within the Learning Academy Trust for around 6 years and bring this experience with me to Hooe to support the Governors, as they support the pupils and staff in school.

My experience in the classroom and my involvement as governor enables me to support the Governors at Hooe to complete their roles successfully. My main role is to aid communication and manage the paperwork. I ensure documents are shared, guide training and help manage the team so that they are able to fulfil their roles and responsibilities.

Living quite locally to Hooe, I appreciate the challenges and also the many positives of living in this area of Plymouth.

Out of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and walking my dog Poppy along the coastal path. In warmer weather I enjoy camping and gardening. Having grown on the outskirts of London, I never tire of being close to the sea and spending time at local beaches, both in summer and winter.
