Hello again everyone, I hope you had a good half term with your family. I am finishing my Governor of the Month article on the final day of October. It has become that time of year with the days getting shorter and darker, and we start lighting the fires at home or flashing up the heating. However, the school is still lit up with the children’s smiles; our children are always polite, smiling, and happy, and they continue to uphold the good reputation of the school. The phrase we have on our school website, using the Hooe Primary Academy title letters, namely ‘Happy, Passionate about learning and Ambitious’, really does describe our children. It was a pleasure earlier in the month to attend the KS1 open afternoon and see so many parents and grandparents enjoying their children’s achievements. The class visitor books had some wonderful comments and I was privileged to meet with some of you with your children.

It has been an absolute pleasure serving as Chair of Governors and I wish Lucy all the best – she is already proving to be an excellent Chair. Be assured I will continue to give my best as a member of the governing board in supporting and being a critical friend to Kate and the wonderful school team. I look forward to meeting some of you again in school soon.
