'Happy, Passionate about learning and Ambitious'

October 2022

Hello,

Welcome back from myself and all the Governors to what is now Term 2 (did you know that the school year is now 6 terms and not 3?)

It’s hard to believe that the first term (or half term as we used to know it) has come and gone already, time flies and it will be Christmas before we know it.

It was certainly a busy one with lots happening, from welcoming our new Foundation parents into the school to Harvest Festival and Poetry Slams (to name just a few) Of course ending the term with an Ofsted inspection.

As someone who is relatively new to Governance and not from an education background, the experience of an Ofsted visit was new to me.

If anyone comes into any place of work to carry out an ‘audit’ or ‘inspection’ of any kind then of course there’s a nervousness, that’s only natural. I'm sure this will have been felt across the school during those few days. That’s testament to just how much Mrs Lewin and the whole school team cares about what they do, how they do it and the impact on the children.

We are awaiting Ofsted’s final report, I’ve no doubt they will have some good things to say about our school. Equally I’m sure they will have some valuable feedback on what can be improved too. As a school, we will take it all on board.

Feedback is so important, good, or otherwise we want to hear it so please keep sharing yours, formally or informally, it keeps the school moving forward.

Thanks

Lucy Linn
